“Unable to print” problem 

There are some common issues which are seen in our daily life but sometimes we are not focusing on that such as some time we forgot to turn on the printer.

We should remember that printer must be connected properly and also check that paper should in the paper tray.

And still, you are unable to print, in that case, HP provides a diagnostic Utility its only present in windows only that help to solve most of these common types of problems “unable to print issues”.  There are some steps that are as follows:-

First click on the start menu button on your Windows computer, then click on All Programs and then click HP. Under the HP Photosmart printer series (like 6520,7520 etc.), click the HP Photosmart series, click the help button, then double-click HP Print Diagnostic Utility.

If you going to face print quality which is not acceptable, then try the following to improve print quality:

First, you should use the printer status and print quality to diagnose printer and print quality issues. 

From the Home screen, touch the Setting icon and then Tools. Touch Printer Status Report or Print Quality Report.

If printouts show misaligned colors or lines, try aligning the printer.  See the Align printer for more information.

HP Photosmart Printer Troubleshooting: “Unable to scan” problem

 Unable to scan is also an issue which we are facing while printing, to resolve this Hp provides a Scan Diagnostic Utility function its only present in the Windows operating system. It helps us to resolve some commonly facing issues like “Unable to Scan”.

 It also has some steps to guide how to fix the problem.

Beginning from the Start button menu on your computer operating system, click on  All Programs, and then click HP Photosmart 6520 series, then click HP Photosmart 6520 series, click the help button, and then double click HP Scan Diagnostic Utility. 

HP Photosmart Printer Troubleshooting: Ink Cartridge Problem

There are some steps in resolving the Ink cartridge issue are as follows:-

  1. First of all, you should try to removing the cartridge and reinserting the cartridges and make sure this time cartridges are in the correct slots.
  2.   After reinserting the cartridge and still does not work then try cleaning the cartridge contacts.

There are some steps to cleaning the cartridge contacts 

When you going to start cleaning it takes only a few minutes in the whole procedure. You should make sure that the ink in the cartridge is reinstalled in the product as soon as possible.  It is not recommended to leave the ink cartridges out of the product longer than 30 minutes. This could result in damage to both the printhead and the ink cartridges.

  1. Check that power is on.
  2. Open the cartridge access door.
  3. Wait for the print cartridge to move to the ink label part of the product.
  4. Press the tab on the cartridge indicated in the error message, then removes it from the slot.
  5. Hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the bottom pointing up and locate the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge. The electrical contact is four small rectangles of copper or gold-colored metal on the bottom of the ink cartridge.
  6. Wipe only the contacts with a damp ink-free cloth.
  7. On the inside of the product, locate the contacts in the printhead. The contact looks like a set of four copper or gold-colored pins positioned to meet the contacts on the ink cartridge.
  8. Use a dry swab or link free cloth to wipe the contact.
  9. Reinstall the ink cartridge
  10. Close the access door, and check if the error message has gone away
  11. If you still receive the error message, turn the product off the on again.

Be careful to touch only the contacts, and do not smear any of the ink or other debris elsewhere on the cartridge.

HP Photosmart Printer Troubleshooting: “Unable to connect” problem

The connection problem also comes in the main issues of printer. We are going to tell you in brief. First, you must check the network configuration or print the wireless test report to assist in diagnosing the network connectivity issue. To check the network configuration or print wireless test report.

From the home screen, touch the wireless icon, and then touch Settings.

Touch and drag your finger vertically to scroll through the options. Display Network Configuration or print Wireless Test report.

HP also provides another way of resolving printer problems which occur during using the printer at homes or small businesses for the different operating system.

First, you should check the quality settings

Open the Dialog box in the software program you are trying to print from

Windows XP: Click file, and then click print. The print Dialog box opens.

Windows Vista: Click the Windows Icon, move the cursor to print, and then click paint. The dialog box opens.

Select your product, and then click properties. The printer properties dialog box opens.

Choose the correct tab to find the settings

.Windows XP: Click the Printing Shortcuts tab, and then click the type of job you are trying to print.

.Windows Vista: Click the Paper/Quality tab.

  • Review the following option, and then make any necessary changes.

Paper sizes: Make sure that the selected option matches your size.

Paper type: If one of the options matches your paper type exactly, select that option.

Print Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the quality. To print more quickly, decrease the print quality.

Click OK, and then click OK again to start the print job.
